I am warm, genuine and direct in my approach with you. We can work on your trauma, identify new coping strategies, find joy in your life, or allow the hour to be a space to de-stress and talk about your week. My goal is for you to feel like you can be upfront, honest, and get your needs met. We will work together to use what is working in your life already (even if sometime's it feels like there's nothing) to help guide you to a happier, more grounded, and more balanced life.
I have recently begun my journey with EMDR, and am so grateful to be able to share it with others. Eye Movement De-sensitiziation and Reprocessing supports individuals to reduce the emotional impact of their trauma and histories. It doesn't erase your memories or your experiences, but it supports you to be less reactive and have less symptoms connected to your trauma. Deciding to look and work on your trauma is hard work, but it comes with amazing rewards- I will be with you every step of the way to help you live the life you are hoping for.
I have approximately 10 years of experience providing family therapy and am trained in systemic family therapy. I understand the complexities of bringing your whole family to the therapy space, and look at the family as working system where everyone impacts each other. I am empathetic, warm, and direct. I have experience working and being a part of blended families, adoptive families, queer families- and working with families to break intergenerational patterns. Unfortunately, I am not taking on new couples at this time.
At the beginning of the pandemic the majority of counseling shifted to online sessions. I always thought that we would return to in person, but the reality is online sessions are convenient, personal, private, and effective. At this time all of my private practice sessions are via telehealth.
I have been providing supervision to new and established clinicians since 2018. I use a systems based approach, with trauma informed care, cultural humility, and relational practices to support your learning. Just like in my therapy practice, our relationship is my priority so that you have a space to learn, reflect, and grow as therapist.
